Butt augmentation with implants
Butt augmentation with implants
Butt augmentation with implants is a surgery that involves augmenting the buttocks with implants, giving them a firmer shape and enhancing the figure and its proportions. The size and shape of the buttocks are usually determined by genetics, but can also be affected by ageing, pregnancy or significant weight changes.
Butt augmentation can help when:
- You are not happy with the shape and/or size of your buttocks.
- The buttocks are asymmetrical.
- You are experiencing the loss of firmness of the buttocks due to ageing or significant weight changes.
Butt augmentation with implants and butt augmentation with fat transfer (Brazilian butt lift) can be performed together.

The process of butt augmentation with implants
Butt augmentation is performed under general anaesthesia. The surgery takes about 1.5 hours.
The incision is made at the sacrum in the crease between the buttocks – once the incision has healed, the scar is almost invisible. The implant is placed in the muscle of the buttocks, quite far away from the main nerves and bones, so that the buttocks’ sensitivity remains the same. Once the implants have been placed, their symmetry is ensured and the incision is stitched.
Before surgery
During the consultation, the patient’s expectations are discussed and the size of the implants is estimated. Our clinic uses certified, high-quality and safe implants filled with silicone gel.
Post-surgery period
Patients are discharged home the same day and are recommended to return to work after about a week. For a few weeks after surgery, the buttocks may be tender, swollen, and painful – this is a normal condition that passes. During the first week, movement is restricted, and sitting upright on the buttocks should be avoided, as should active sports. Compression garments should be worn for eight weeks after surgery, and physical activity should be avoided for about 2 months, as should sleeping on your back.
Surgical risk
The risk of complications is extremely low, but adverse reactions to anaesthesia or the implant itself, infection, bleeding, bruising, asymmetry, unevenness, and wound breakdown are possible. Following the surgeon’s recommendations after surgery can usually avoid all these complications.
Results
The initial result is visible immediately after the surgery, but it takes 3-4 months for the buttocks to be fully formed.
Frequently asked questions
When can I return to active physical activity after surgery?
A smooth healing process after buttock augmentation surgery is essential – following your doctor’s recommendations will help ensure this. It is recommended to limit all movement for the first week after the surgery and to postpone vigorous physical activity such as sports (for example, jogging or exercises that put strain on the buttocks) for at least 2 months.
Could I need to replace my buttock implants in the future?
Buttock implants are extremely durable and can last for many years. However, replacement may be necessary if the patient’s aesthetic expectations change or if complications arise (e.g., contracture or rupture of the implant).
Are the implants used for buttock augmentation perceptible?
When a butt augmentation with implants is performed, the sensation after implant placement may vary depending on the healing process. In the first few weeks after surgery, you may experience sensitivity, swelling and pain – these symptoms usually go away as the incision heals and the body adjusts to the implants. Once the healing process is complete, any discomfort or pain disappears, and the buttock implants become almost completely invisible under the skin and have no impact on daily life.
What is the difference between buttock augmentation with implants and fat transfer surgery?
The main differences between buttock augmentation with implants and fat grafting are technique and results. Implants give a longer-lasting, more precise shape, while fat transfer buttock augmentation gives a more natural contour, using fat suctioned from elsewhere on the body to create new shapes. In fact, both buttock augmentation with implants and fat transfer (Brazilian butt lift) can be performed together to achieve optimal results – more volume and a particularly natural silhouette.
